Before you start listing, it’s important to set up your store policies. These policies tell buyers how you handle payment, returns, and shipping. By having them ready, you’ll save time when creating listings.

Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Your eBay Policies

1. Go to eBay Seller Hub

2. Turning On Seller Hub
If you’re new to Seller Hub, eBay will prompt you to turn it on. Click Get Started to enable it.

3. Go to Listings

From the top menu, click Listings and choose Active.

4. Open Business Policies

From the left-hand menu, select Business Policies.

Note: If you haven’t enabled Business Policies before, eBay will prompt you to turn them on. Click Get Started to enable it.

5. Go to Create Policy

On the top right, click Create policy.

6. Create a Payment Policy
Click Create policyPayment.

Give your policy a clear name (e.g., “Default Payment”).

Scroll all the way down and save your policy.

7. Create a Return Policy

Click Create policyReturn.
Give your policy a clear name (e.g., “No Return”, "14 Days Return").

If you accept returns, scroll down and turn on Accept Returns under Domestic Returns.

Set your return window (commonly 14 days or 30 days).

Decide on the return type (Money Back, Money Back or Replacement)

Specify who pays for return shipping:
Seller (common for defective or incorrect items)
Buyer (common for “change of mind” returns)

Scroll down and save your policy.

8. Create a Shipping Policy
Click Create policyShipping.
Give your policy a clear name (e.g., “USPS Ground Advantage”).

Scroll down and choose whether you offer Flat or Calculated rates.
Note: “Flat” shipping means you charge the same rate for all buyers, regardless of location. “Calculated” shipping means eBay determines the cost based on the buyer’s address, package weight, and size.

Add your primary shipping service.

Scroll down and add your handling time.

Save your policy.

Important Note: If you created your policy after connecting your eBay store to Reeva, you need to refresh your store for your policies to show up in Reeva.
